I finally got me a fish'n rig!!!.. On sunday I purchased a 72 Seaswirl 15' for a great price.. It came with 2 trolling motors, one is a1960 Evinrude 3hp, the other is an electric of some sort. Now I just need a fish finder and perhaps a down rigger, then I'll be set.... I'm sooo pumped...

Any one want to tune an outboard for me [Wink]
72 evinrude 50???... Just sayin.....

Good on ya. Getting a boat opens up so much more fishing opportunity.

Shoot me a PM about the outboard tune up. I've got an engine rebuild and swap ahead of you but I'll sure do it. I do it more as a hobby, not a business.

Nice, we have a 14' Gregor with a 5 hp that moves it fair enough. Also a Minn Kota 45 that moves it great.

Thanks, I appreciate it!!.. I would love to even help, so that I could learn... I love working on stuff (I'm a welder) but this is my first time messin with a 2 stroke marine motor... I'll pm you

Go 2 STROKES!,My buddy was once so excited about his new 4 stroke,I asked him a year late if he still enjoyed it,the mon says,o'yes I love this 4 stroke, lol,by the next year he was done with it and with no explanation,he just said he's going back to a 2 stroke[cool].I can only say, I thought in the future motors would become lighter and more efficient,it does seem so with automotive engines, but not with outboards[frown] P.S.motor was a 9.9hp.... Here are my 2 strokes a 1.75X2,their the love of my life. [inline "twin outboards.jpg"]

Dude, i'm PUMPED!!.. I've wanted a boat for SOOOO long.. You should totally get one, there are a bunch on KSL for pretty cheap...

I cant WAIT to get out on the water with everyone... Maybe now I can finally get me a good bass... Something other than WB..

I'll post pics when i'm down gett'n her cleaned up..

HUH?!!! Two stroke over a four stroke? Why. Noisier, stinkier and not legal in some waters.
I had a small 14' Aluminum a fewyears ago with a 25hp four stroke. It was awesome. Passed people on the lakes and they had to ask if the motor was running. I hate the smell of 2 stroke and in a small boat, hard to get away from it[Tongue]

Aaaah! I love the smell of two stroke in the morning lol.
I'd love to have a four stroke. Technology has decreased weight dramatically, they are so quiet it's incredible and they don't burn oil. However, I have a two-stroke and anything that I have is better than anything you have [Wink]

Well it depends on the four stroke, if you buy a kicker motor that only has one cyl they are as noisy as a 2stroke. Whether you get a 2 or a 4 stoke always get one with a two cyl, they are quieter and generally run smoother imo.

HUH? Mine is a 5 hp and Zachs a 4, not noise at all.

Very quiet and smooth.

As I said that was my opinion I have fished behind many trolling motors and the motors that are the quietest all have two cylinders. To say your trolling motor makes no noise is a statement I find hard to believe. All gas motors make noise, I'm just saying that if you compare the same brand in a single cyl vs a two cyl you will notice a difference.

I have a two stroke primary 115 and two stroke kicker 5, I use the primary motor very little. I would love to buy a four stroke kicker. I see them trolling by and can't even tell that they are on. Mine you definitely know is on.

Exactly. I run mine on a 10' 6" pontoon also....quiet in the realm of things, even an electric motor makes noise.

Congrats! enjoy her .I'm guessing you have some vintage trolling motors as well?on my old sears, one of the motors failed,as its a dual motor set up 16lb thrust each.I'd sure like to rebuild it,each motor is a 2 blade prop.FYI those days the strongest motor was only 16lb thrust so what they did was use a dual motor set up on one trolling motor[shocked] for a combined 32lb thrust!,my motor still works but just with one motor, its still good but only for calm days[fishin]

Receantly I began to stick earplugs in my ears especially when its just me in the boat,my max rpm is 8000 and its really getting up there.Remeber mine are aircooled "extra loud"and only have half a cowling for the engine.P.S.on a cellphone gps I hit 9.25mph I alone in a naked boat [Smile],0'but for the smoke,my boat running with the twins is fast enough to out run it[:p],plus with todays new oils its virtually smokeless. The twins help me warn the alligators, and in the bay the manatees. Its nice when you can combine "boating and fishing"

Nice, is it like my buddy Alfreds,he also has a 115 2 stroke and a 55lb digi troling motor, he is a paraplegic, but you would'nt know it by the way he fishes, most trips he beats me like a red headed step child.[frown] [inline 064.JPG] Alfred says he likes to have extra power so he doesn't have to run wide open,45mph at 3/4 throttle, unlike his old 90hp 45mph at full throttle

Hey Droolz (love your handle)

I've got a 14' aluminum smokercraft with a trailer I need to get rid of. No motor though it puked and would cost more to fix it than what it was worth. The wife is tired of it sitting in the back yard. If you're interested let's make a deal.
