Got on the lake about 11:15 and started looking for some basses. Marked some fish and lots of bait, but couldn't find any that wanted their picture taken. Saw Gator and friend out looking for some crappie. I finally admitted defeat and headed up river to check some crappie spots. First stop was a winner. Creek channel drop in about 17-20' of water. Caught 15 nice keepers and probably 3 short ones. When that slowed I moved over to a shallower bank with a drop to 8-10'. Picked up a few more. All caught on bg shad in outlaw special. Good solid bunch of keepers, 11-13.5". All fish released today.

Decided to try the bass again and headed back in a shallow slough and started throwing a Lucky Craft shallow jerkbait. Had a solid hit on the 3rd cast. First bass was about 3.5. Ended up catching 4 keepers there between 3 -4 lbs. All on jerkbait in 6-8' of water. Temp back in the slough was about 4 degrees warmer than the river at 54 degrees. Picked up one more keeper when I stopped in CFP to say hello to Polo and his neighbor. Polo was doing his open water structure Crappie Magic. He is really good at finding fish out in the middle of no where. Saw some fish starting to work the surface on some vast bait schools as I was heading in. Had to stop and give them a try, but no hits.

Not the best day ever, but got some fish in the boat and it was good to get out after not fishing for a couple of days.

Regards, Labman
