Has anyone been up there recently? How thick is the ice? I know there were slow reports earlier in the season but I'm hard headed and want to see for myself.

Did you make it up there, if so, how were the edges? I'm guessing the catching was slow?[:/]

fishing partners bailed on me so I had to stay within cellphone range. I went to pineview instead to have to tight-lipped perch tease me.

Of the constant stream of fish on the finder I managed to ice one 8" perch.

Well thats to bad, it is hard to believe that the perch catching could change so much at the View in one year[unimpressed].

how was the ice, and where were you generally speaking. I would maybe like to go one more time, but i hear it is getting a little thin.

I fished off of browning point in 55 ft of water straight out from the pumphouse closest to shore. There were lots of fish on the finder and I tried everything to get them to bite but only had two bites from 8 to noon.

The main lake ice was a foot thick and very slippery. I'd recommend ice cleats. The edges are pretty bad. I snuck on with some tiptoeing on the morning re freeze of the edges but when I left about noon i had to run and jump to get back on shore and still soaked my toes a bit. You will need a plank and you'll want it to be long if your getting on at browning point. The planks that are already there are frozen into the ice too far from shore to be of any use.
