Went out to Salmon Falls Backwaters and there was no SAFE ice to be found. There is a lot of open water around the edges and crackes have opened up all through the ice.. Lots of open water by China creek and at the inlet. Water is flowing in at a good pace. I believe it is over this year. May be in a couple of weeks you can launch a boat at the dam.

Oakley is the same way. ice still looked pretty firm up in the goose creek end but we didn't get up there. we did have a wonderful day of fishing in the boat but the catching wasn't so great with only 2 fish being boated but sure was nice to get out and i have a video to prove it lol [fishin].

Great video. Did you launch at the ramp or on the point?
Salmon Falls is still iced up at the boat launch but it is thin and won't be there long. Hope it soon so I can test out a few new walleye rigs.

Thanks. we did put in right next to the ramp. I hear ya April 1st walcott opens and those big rainbows will be easy targets for a bit [cool]
