Hit the Weber today as the wife needed time alone to study so. What a perfect time to get out for the day. Decided to take an expedition and go find some new waters to fish. Traveled up to the Weber between the Rock and Echo. Fishing wasn't hot, but it was consistent at least. Man are there a TON of whitefish right now. Caught around 15. 4 of which were Trout, the rest.... ALL whitefish! Having never tried Whitefish, I decided to keep one for the ride home and put it on the table. Anyone got any good recipes on these babies let me know. The joy of the day came right before quitting time. I hit a small hole that I hit previous in the day walking back to the truck, nymphs drifted right to the back of the hole, getting ready to fling it back up to the front, BAM! Fish on! Second time that happened out of this same hole. Both browns for the day were out of this same hole. But MAN was this last 15 1/2" brown a blast! I'm fairly new to fly fishing, and this was prob one of the biggest landed thus far. It definitely put up a fight, ran a few times on me. But I was able to land him without it breaking off so! It was a good day! Learning experience for sure that paid off. If there's anyone out there looking for a fishing pattern let me know. I go almost everyone weekend and usually by myself so, hit me up!
