Started to go to Nick but changed my mind and ended up at the Riverpark. Got on the water around 7:30 and it was a cold 32 degrees. I was bundled up like that kid on South Park. Went up river a bit, throwing traps and jigs. No takers so headed down river. Second cast with a one knocker, it gets heavy when I'm reeling back. Thought I was hung on some rocks, until the line goes sideways, then towards me, then under the boat. Play with it a while and finally get it in the boat. Dang drum! Nice, but not a smallie emoBang

Fish a while longer hitting rip-rap with traps, spinners, and jigs. Nothing. Head towards the tie ups and cast around them. Toss a jig and get a text. While checking it out, my line gets heavy again and starts going sideways. This one is heavier and is pulling hard. Play with it for a few minutes and finally get it in the net (the one Ranger23 laughs at) and in the boat. ANOTHER DRUM!! This one is 8.5 pounds. Fun to catch, but still isn't a smallie!!

Head towards downtown and miss three decent bites. Work my way back upriver working rip-rap and tie-ups without success. Had to meet someone so I loaded up and headed out around 1:00.

Even though I didn't catch any bass, it was still good to get out there and stretch a line. Water temps ranged 51-53, wind was pretty mild.
