First off I just need to say that the weathermen don't have a freakin clue. I checked the weather report on Thursday and Friday, both days it said the same thing. Windy on Saturday and Sunday was supposed to be 5-7 mph. Guess I was an idiot for believing them or not rechecking the report. Hit the lake at 6 am out of boulder, wind around 10 mph, I putted slowly to the wash through three foot waves. Finally got there and it was blowing up to 20 mph and not a boat in sight. Fished there for two hours and got one 3 lber. I decided to find some cover and ran to crawdad cove. The weirdest thing, NO WIND, 20 mph at the wash and at crawdad cove nothing. Fished at crawdad for three hours or so and not even a hit. About 1 pm decided to go back to the wash, this time the wind completely stopped and fishing was good, got 12 fish, 11 stripers and 1 smallmouth. Most stripers between 1-2lbs. All fish caught vertical jigging, kept three fish for some tacos. Sorry no pictures this time out.

Brother I can relate to a day like that! How often do you get the lake to yourself? Sounds like a good time on the water. Always enjoy your posts.

Yeah, sometimes the weatherman is wrong the other way too. You know the old saying about being wrong all the time and still keeping your job.
Shame on you for not bringing the camera! haha, jk.
BTW I haven't forgot about your stickers. Stamps went up by a penny so I ran out using two stamps per envelope sending out the bills. I will get them out soon though.

Great report, I'll be taking the kayak out tomorrow thanks to that report - what depth were you jigging up those stripers? And did you hook up that smallie on the same jig as the stripers?

Yes, but even a broken clock is right twice a day!

I get out to the lake at least once a week, so typically 40-50 times a year. I only have a 16' Pro V tracker, so 3 feet waves give some trouble. Been out there in a some weather before, so when the wind comes up I usually head for cover. But was able to check the weather report on the smart phone and it was supposed to calm down in the afternoon, so I stayed out there.
Ihuntforfish - sent you a PM on the jigs and location where I was fishing. I don't have ever have a problem sharing my secrets as long as someone asks.
