The winds subsided for a day and the river was clear, so I headed into Flint River, a tributary on the upper end of Wheeler Lake. To make a long story brief, the fishing for white bass was fantastic. Bounced jigging spoons on the bottom in 17 to 20 feet of water all day. The bite was steady and the whites were nice sized. Landed a large blue cat, a couple of drum and three hybrids in the mix. Two of the hybrids strained the 6# line a bit, but managed to land a 21" and a 23" hybrid. Fished from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and decided to call it a day.
