Hey all, with spring fast approaching and me having less homework to worry about in a month, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good stillwater flyfishing spots near Boise (near as in less then an hour drive) I will be getting a hand me down float tube soon and am anxious to try it out. I would appreciate any info on some good lakes. PM me if you want too!

What kind of fish?

The ponds in town can be quite good too.

I'm not too picky, trout are my top choice though.

I live on the east side of the state so I have very little experience with most of the areas over there.

Many of the smaller reservoirs over there are mostly warm water fish.

First I would check out the ponds in town, if you want a quick trip.

Further out look at the ponds in Emmett and some of the other towns.

Then there are the larger reservoirs above Boise. Just pick a small area on one of them and explore it.

Mountain Home has a reservoir.

Swan Falls Reservoir.

CJ Strike has some good areas that you can float tube. Most are bass and bluegill, but I have fished Cove Arm and Crane Falls Lake there from a tube. Be careful of the main lake if the wind is blowing.

Horseshoe Bend has a pond.

Pick a water and look at the stocking information on the Fish and Game page.

Good luck!
