I have heard from several people including wolfs4ever's post that smallies at Lake Mohave are going crazy. A friend of mine showed me pics of two 4 pound smallies he caught this past Tuesday, and a handful more that his brother snagged the same day. I plan on leaving for Mohave this coming Wednesday to toss some jigs.

He said they're laying on beds right now and can be seen in the shallows and most were caught on tubes and cranks. If anyone goes, leave a nice report and some pics!

NICE, I had planned to head there on Sunday. Have only fished it a couple of time before. Any suggestions on locations?

I'm in the same boat as you man, I've only been to Mohave one other time and it was just boating - So i'll be taking the kayak out to poke around and find some memorable spots and hopefully get pulled around a little bit [cool] Also, my friend said he had the best luck from a float tube, but also found some places close enough to hit from the shore. Again, post a good update when you head out!

There is some nice looking spots just south of the launch ramp on the west side one could get too easily enough in a tube/canoe.

My daughter and myself are pondering hitting up Mohave ourselves Sunday. Depends on what the winds are suppose to be doing... If we go more than likely we will be at the Cottonwood lauch ramp sometime around 6am.

Just north of Cottonwood there are a bunch of sunken brush piles in the coves that some volunteers put in. They are a bit deep for sight-fishing, but they are bound to hold bass if you can find them. They are within paddling distance.

Send me a pm next time you want to paddle out if I am off. I would like to kayak for some smallies.

A high wind advisory was issued Sunday at 3pm through the 7th (Wednesday). I went Sunday and it was windy right off the bat at 6am. I dealt with 15-20mph winds all day. What a PITA. Even 10 miles up the river where I figured the canyons would protect us there was no protection. Caught ZERO. Talked to one other boater and they caught one. Didn't see squat on the sonar. Dunno where they went into hidding... A good spot that is for sure.

On the flip side it was 80 out and I have a healthy sunburn...
