I went on a rockfish trip on the open-party 3/4 day Premier to the northern Horseshoe Kelp area. The bait we got were anchovies, sardines, and frozen squid. Leaving at 7am (Winter schedule), we got bait on the outside and preceded to 'the shoe'.
The day was slow with various rockfish, sculpin, sand dab, and even a shark being caught.
Sculpin only bit the small sardines but hardly touched the anchovies. The current was not the best for fishing today. No barracuda showed or lings for that matter although I fished for them almost all day.
Still.... good friends, fun fishing and full sacks of rockfish if you wanted them.
