I was out at the river below Coon Rapids Dam this morning. Gnats all over the place! They followed me everywhere I went. I can only imagine what it's going to be like when the rest of the insects start coming around.

Anybody have suggestions on the best insect repellant to use while out fishing... or hiking for that matter?

These Minnesota insects seem to love my California blood. EEEK!!

I recently got pretty sick of my "Off! Smooth & Dry Insect Repellent";; and made a switch to the "3M Ultrathon SRL-12 Insect Repellent Lotion", and im really about to buy it in small bulk!!

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

I use McCormick Pure Vanilla extract ....

Put a drop on my finger and rub it behind ears and on my nose and forehead ..

Very small amount. And I hardly ever get buzzed around my head for gnats, flies or mosquitoes.
