decided to try out deer creek for one last time this winter and i was just hoping to maybe get into perch a little more. went to my perchin spots and arrived at 7 am. fished in about 40 to 45 feet of water for about 3 hours and i only had two perch bites while my dad managed to land to toad perch at 4 inches lol....[:p] with that being the same as its been all winter for me we decided to try an area that we havnt fished for years. got there drilled a few holes and fished in about 27 feet of water. i hooked one slimer that got off at the hole with a few more bites. so we decided to pack up and start heading back to the truck. while i was packing up the ice tent i saw in the corner of my eye a perch bite on my pole. since the bites were far and few btween i was excited so i dropped everything and set the hook, immediatly i knew it was big feeling like a jumbo perch so i cranked it to the hole and to my suprise i see a nice walleye smiling his ugly mug at me. i scooped him out and me and my dad were stoked. it measured in at 22 inches and very fat and healthy, also when i filleted him he was a male to my suprise since it was so fat. so ice fishing has been less than stellar for me this year but getting an eye through the ice somewhat made up for it. and boy he was tasty.

thanks

no exact spots but a general idea is an area that perch usually are targeted at.
