I am planning to go up on the weber this sat and do some fly fishing. I went three times this last week for a couple hours each day and only got into 1 fish which got off right before I could see it. I am fairly new to fly fishing and would just like to watch and learn and get some pointers from someone. So if anyne is planning on going up this sat and would like some company and teach me a little about fly fishing send me a pm and we will see if we can work something out. I am also available mon or tues too.

Just FYI looks like there doing some major work on Echo Damm. Could put a damper on any fishing below it. If you looking to fish above the damm try deep water nymphing and bouncing some nymphs off the bottom.

try a stimulator bug on top as an indicator and fish a red larvae midge pattern about 6 inches below it on the warmer days that are coming. also streamers are good to this time of year.

Maybe that is it, I have been fishing just a few miles up the mouth of the canyon, up hope thats the problem, I am new to the area, How far up the canyon is echo dam, it looks pretty far from the maps I looked at, Is thier any other areas that are good for flyfishing in the area of clinton, I moved up from provo so not to familar with the area yet. I may just have to go back to the provo for now. Thanks for all your help. Has anybody else caught anything On the lower strectch i have seen quite a few others out fishing on my way up the canyon.

That area you posted the picture of the BWO hatch earlier is about 25 miles downstream of Echo if I'm recognizing the spot correctly. The trickle of muddy water coming from Echo won't have any significant effect on the conditions down there. I like it further up closer to Echo this time of year. If it is muddy go try the area between Wanship and Coalville above Echo. Not sure where you live but if in SLC area take I-80 west and don't go upto I-84

It's not the most peaceful spot to fish, but where the river is between the east and westbound lanes a little way up from where you were fishing has been good for me. Standard nymphs were productive.

Yeah, it's been awhile since I fished it, but there was a little pull off on the right side of the road where you can park. From there you have to book it across the highway and climb over the divider. It was pretty decent fishing back when I fished it.
