Fishing Forum

Just got back into a town from a trip south to the land of desert and hot weather! I'm dying to get the line in the water but have packed up all the ice gear (which doesn't seem safe now anywho). Anyone know of fishable open water around for this weekend. I'd be fishing from shore btw. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Guess I should have specified, I'm only looking to drive 2 hours or so from Hill AFB. Maybe further if the fishing would be gravy.

probly the best bet right now would be UL or willard. just becuase they are ice free and fishing should start to pick up here soon as it warms. try near the springs at UL. ill be dedicating a good part of early spring to UL. and this year im hiting the marina at willard early for slabs. if you want trout half of little dell is open water.

I puttered around at Ut Lake, AF Harbor for awhile on Monday, mostly just getting the boat out for the first time and trying out some new stuff. Water temp between 43 and 47, colder in the harbor than open sea. No fish, but I didn't try hard either. Beautiful weather, and worth getting out in the sun! Good things are yet to come!
