I had the opportunity to take a trip up to Salmon for work yesterday, just had to drop some stuff off at our store up there and they covered the gas. I'd never been out there or fished for Steelhead before. I tried an afternoon on the river there only to be limited to just a 12" rainbow. I was about 5 miles down stream from North Fork. It sounded like it was a slow day for everyone from the people I talked to and others I overheard. Just curious, have the fish not made it that far up the river yet?

(I'm not trying to get peoples inside information. I probably won't make it back up there this season, just curious as to why it was so slow. If you don't want the world to know what you know, maybe just private message me)

I agree with chromejunky. The fish are all through the system. I watched people catch fish in the canyon, out of the canyon, all the way up to Challis last week. It has been pretty hit and miss so far this year.
