had a really great day below the dam with dad, one that was unprecedented for myself. got an early start and dad got a nice smallmouth a few ounces shy of 3lb ten minutes in. I was soon to follow with one of similar size and the bite just on. Our biggest smallmouth went 3 1/2, but we had a lot of solid three and two plus. we fished on with some nice spots and a largemouth that decided to show; he was the biggest bass of the day, but we somehow forgot to weigh em -- looked like a 4+ perhaps. pleased to meet Pete Sr. and see Pete Jr. again with a nice smallmouth. and was also pleased to meet the Coast Guard with their random registration/safety equipment check. we passed with an A- due to a rip in a life jacket. hit a few places on the way back to the boat ramp and the smallmouth were still interested. we hated to leave, but we fished all day and these two pups were just flat-out whipped. we really had a lot of fun and enjoyed the day. too bad this work thing has to cramp my style.
