Looks like if we can get some of those Utah county boys down there to Blow a little harder, The ice could be off Deer Creek by this weekend. It has lots of big cracks out in the middle. Lots of Open water at Charleston for the ice to move. And Wallsburg bay is starting to break up. Almost broke up to snows far west boat ramp. If you are old enough to remember that boat ramp. LOL

Do you remember the fish camps/cabins where the State Park is now next to the island? Not as big as the camps at Strawberry but just as ugly! But then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I remember snows. When I was like 13 I spent a couple months there. My dad decided to ship me out for the summer basically. That old dude was always super nice to me. Showed me a couple of his techniques for bass and walleye. I had a couple pictures up on their wall. Was good times. Deer Creek will always hold some nostalgia for me because of that place.
I would love to get into some walleye out there. mmmmmmmmmm

Oh yeah I remember those beautiful cabins.And I mean beautiful.... In fact I lived in a gorgeous one every summer at Strawberry. Clarks camp, mosquito bay. We were there from Memorial weekend till we had to go back to school the end of August. The old man was an electrician at Geneva. He had 13 weeks vacation and 3 weeks sick pay . He earned every damn bit of it. Because that ended up being his golden years. That damn place killed him at 60 years old. Do you remember the cabins at Charleston? Yes I do remember old man snow. Mel and Koleen. You would get ornery too if you had to put up with all the @#$% that came into that place and asked dumb questions. That old boy would drink a pint of whiskey a day just to get through the day. Those were the days....LOL
