So with gas prices so high. Let me hear your money saving techniques so you can go do what you love and not break the bank.

Bring food to work so I don't have to leave to go out to buy lunch. Double wammy saving money on eating out and not driving the car as much to save the fuel for the fishing trips! [Wink]

Fish the river up the street and ride my bicycle to new locations.

If you own a larger boat that has a substantial-sized gas tank... fill it up closer to the lake rather than filling it up first, then trailering it long distances. At 6.073 pounds per US Gallon, I figure some people are trailering several hundred extra pounds just in fuel! Of course, you'd want to avoid "on-the-water" fuel prices! Might make a difference, especially for those with big cruisers...

I drive to work in my little Toyota corolla all week. Gets great gas mileage. Only use my truck to pull the boat and most of the time at least one of my fishing buddies will pay half the gas. Helps to car pool, one less car on the road and helps my wallet too!
Also helps I only live 2.5 miles from work and still car pool with my brother or my good friend franky to work. I also bring lunch with me so I don't have to leave til we're done. Save money and try to do my part to improve air quality. After all when we're gone all that is left is our children. Do my best to have something left for all of them.

I told my wife I was going to put a trailer hitch on our 1987 Nissan Sentra so I could still afford to fish with the boat this year. (I assured her we'd just drill holes in the bottom of the trunk for draining...) [shocked]

Then I'd focus on the ballot box, not on your vehicle...

Not sure what to do about it, but it just makes be livid! Gas should cost around $1.50, for 2 gallons!!! Worst part about it is that it's our own countryfolk doing it to us with their buying it up and reselling it back to us using reasons like "trouble in the Middle East" B.S. to artificially jack-up the prices.
Here in America we deserve all the cheap gas we can burn. We're oil hungry and it happens to be the way of life that we demand! We shouldn't have to change our recreational way of life because there is NO shortage of oil. I'm just getting started.

+1 gas prices are based on speculation made up by the gas producers (cheveron, conoco, phillips 66), so they can continue with there $12 billion quarterly profits.

The 44 MPG that I get in my 8 year old Prius (252,000 miles so far, and nothing but regular repairs/maintenance) makes me Smile. I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I see Mr. Jacked Up Diesel Truck filling his tank.

But seriously, we should be DRILLING MOAR!!!

I still haven't shelled out my $100 for an Idaho license, and I've just been fishing around Cache Valley to save money. Gas isn't the only thing, I need to scrape up some more money by April 15th. It figures money would be tight when we finally have a warm spring and I can get out sooner [mad]

All it takes is a PM to me and I'll pick you up. This goes for ALL OF YOU. I need fishing partners.

If I can find a time that works for you when I don't have school or work, I'm totally up for it. The streams have been fishing well up here right now.

Dude, I sell insurance. I don't really work. I need like 30 seconds notice and I'm on my way.

Lol, I need to get a little car like that to drive around...but getting behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado 1 ton LT 6.6L LLY Duramax 4x4 SWR quad cab longbed Chipped/programmer, custom exhaust, K&N intake EGT delete and finger stick, 4" down pipe, NO KITTY, new upgraded rear punkin' (oops) is not easy to give up and I feel safer in my truck.
I'm averaging 15.6 in the city and 18.1 on the freeway pulling the boat. Finally got 20 mpg with out the boat on the freeway just recently Undecided
I'm going to have to drive a car soon so I can afford the fuel in the "I'm over-compensating" truck and still be able to have money for gas in the boat. Ugh, I need to go fishing.

Stopped drinking Crown Royal. Changed to Seagrams 7.

[crazy] sheesh I work construction so I drive a lot! I'd kill for some Seagrams 7, I've been dwindled down to Pabst blue ribbon [crazy]

Spend at the gas-pump, save at the grocery.
