I haven't posted a report in a while but thought I would after this afternoons fishing trip.

I got a hall pass from the warden to hit the river tonight so I took it. emoThumbsup I wanted to run my outboard. It seems I am always fishing out of Pete Sr's boat or my neighbors boat; so my motor has been sitting up a while... It needed a workout.

Anyway, put in after work and ran up toward the R/R bridge to see if there were any Brownfish wanting to play in the current below the R/R bridge. Looked up toward the boils and the birds were really working in the fast water. I did not see any boats above the R/R bridge so decided to head up there and see if there were any fish around. I had tied on "the rig" (TN of course) that Dad had given me earlier in the day. Thanks man... emoToast... It turned out to produce... I have yet to throw the TN rig or the AL version; but found out today that the stripers like it.... Ended up catching 5 stripers before pulling off them 30 minutes before dark to try and catch a smallmouth. They were not huge but solid fish that are a lot of fun in the current. They were all similar in size except for one that must have been a yearling... Probably 5 or 6 pounds. The biggest was just under 15 pounds and the others ranged from 9 to 13 pounds. Never hooked a monster; felt like it might happen but not to be this time. I was throwing into the boils and the fish would hit in and around the boils. Had a couple of hookups that came unbuttoned and caught a few white bass too.

Right before dark chunked the rig in the current below the R/R bridge and NADA... Did manage a nice spot on a jig/pig and a small spot on a JB before having to head to the ramp.

I shunned the Brownfish for Rockfish today... Those Brownies will punish me for that I am sure...

I hate that Pete Sr. could not have been with me today emoBang.... He would have loved some striper action like that.
