Mounting anything in a jon boat can be a challenge, esp with no console or ledges to mount to. I really wanted to mount my fishfinder on something that looked better than the usual 'rigged-up' 'block of wood' that rots over time. I made a mount that I'm very pleased with. It looks and works great! I made a You Tube video on how I did it. Let me know what you think. The cost was less than $10.

Hi Just saw your set up,do you leave your fishfinder in the boat,in otherwords is it easy to take off,I'm looking for a mount were I can take it off easy and quickly install it.
FishMark 320P.S.how come you have an add before your video?

My fishfinder does indeed have a quick release. I push in a button on the back, and the whole finder comes loose leaving the base behind. I think most fishfinders are like that, but I might be wrong. If you have a fishfinder that doesn't have a quick release, consider screwing it down using wingnuts so to make it easier to take off when needed.
P.S. Google runs ads on all my videos... google adsense.
