Hearing rumors that they are catching crappie in Richland area of Brownlee... Anybody confirm or deny that???? I want to go over, but that is a long drive if nothing is biting...

I heard that rumor over 4 weeks ago, but I can neither confirm or deny. I'd sure like to know also.

Can a guy launch a pontoon on the Oregon side and fish with an Idaho license? I'm thinking you can, but I wanted to be sure.

Yeah long as your floating you can fish w/ either license. Just can't be standing/wading on the Oregon bank. Lots of folks launch from the Oregon side since the roads better.

you CANT fish the powder arm w/ an idaho license because it is bordered on both sides by oregon. theres an old sun/ weather faded sign on the south side as you enter the powder from main lake.

Are you sure. That would basically mean that could go for any cove on the Oregon side

That is the way I understand it. When I launch on the Oregon side I stay away from coves on the Oregon side. I also will not drop a line unless I am floating and my feet are not touching mud. Ron

I have read you cannot fish the powder river arm without a Oregon license. I was thing of trying brownlee sat. but I'm not sure yet.

This is copied from the Oregon regs.
"Regulations for this zone:
1. Where the Snake River forms the boundary between Oregon and Idaho, the following rules apply:
a. License of either state is valid in the Snake River when angling from a floating device. However, when fishing tributaries, sloughs or
from sloughs or from lands within either state, the angler must be licensed by the state where the waters (or land) are located.
b. Anglers must follow the rules of the licensing state.
c. Anglers are restricted to one daily catch limit, even if licensed by both states.
d. Anglers may launch and take out their boats from either state, regardless of licensing state.

So by the letter of the law, all those Oregon folks who fish where the river comes on at woodhead park, are illegal without an Idaho license.
