EL DORADO - A workshop on control of feral hogs is set for March 27 in El Dorado. The workshop will be held from 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The workshop is a project of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service and will include talks and demonstrations by several staff members of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.<br />
It is free, but registration is required. To register, phone the Union County Cooperative Extension Office at 870-864-1916 or Calhoun County Cooperative Extension Office at 870-798-2231. The workshop will be at the Union County Fairgrounds, 334 W. Hillsboro Street (U.S. Highway 82) in El Dorado.<br />
Segments of the workshop will include "Natural History and Biology of Feral Hogs" by Robin Bridges, of the Extension Service, "Those Pesky Hogs" by Jaret Rushing of the Extension Service, "How to Hunt and Trap Feral Hogs" by Gary Thornton of the AGFC, "Hog Hunting and Trapping Regulations" by Rushing and Logan Brown of the AGFC, "Hog Harvest: Field Dress, Donate, Dispose" by Laura Rogers of the AGFC, and "Feral Hog Resources" by Rushing.<br />
Hog traps will be set up for participants to see.
