Drove by today and give it another week and you'll be able to troll without any ice. Ice has melted around the docks as well as right by the spill way/dam wall. It has another 60-70 ft to go S of the boat launch before you hit open water.
Last yr I hit it right after ice out not expecting much...however we did very well[cool].

I've heard the gate is open but the canyon is still frozen solid. The report said you weren't going far but that was a week ago. I'm sure there is more open water by now!
