Fish Lake ice was still great today. The surface was free of snow (looked as if it had melted and refrozen). It was 8-10 inches straight out from the Mackinaw campground. We fished in 31 feet of water and had schools of fish on the electronics all morning long. We caught splake as if we were in the hachery. Lost track of how many in the first hour. Not sure how others did as there was no one fishing close enough to tell. We did hear an occasional war hoop from a group down near the lodge. No bows, no perch, no macks - all fish caught were splake. We left at 11:30, with smiling sunburned faces.
