After striper fishing with (and learning from) Labman earlier in the week, I took Pete Jr. out of Riverpark after he got off work on Wedn. He caught 3 stripers up to 15 pounds or so on swim bait/fluke type lures. I threw the kitchen sink at'em and got skunked. I was as frustrated as I've ever been on a fishing trip, didn't even take joy in my son catching fish.

I got over it the next day! I wasn't going to go fishing, but I still had the boat hooked up and my wife was going to do some work at our church. I launched at Riverpark around noon and started the day with my personal best striper, a 22 pounder. The pic shows what he did to my net. I finally got one over 20 pounds, hurrah! Not long after that, I got my PB blue cat, a 41 in., 37 lb. fish that took me under the R/R bridge, he just wouldn't come up. Both fish hit swim baits. After that, I thought a good smallie would be nice, but that didn't happen. Oh well, you can't get too greedy.

It was nice to chat with several CFF'ers out there on the Wedn. evening trip. There was Labman, Drumking with Dr. Phil, Reliable and wbwilly, sorry if I missed someone.

All the fish we caught were released in good shape. The flow was 44Kcfs.

Could the fingerling pictured be a striper? We found him floating on the surface.

Regards, Pete Sr.
