[cool] We started off at the Lagoon around 5:30am. There were plenty of jumpers out there on that 75deg water. Nothing taking the topwater presentations. Gonna take the flyrod on the next trip for sure.

With the sunrise came the sunfish family. Swarms of hand size bluegills. They were hitting verociously on wax worms and baitbugs tipped with crawlers. None were big enough to make us happy except for one that looked to be around 2". Ha ha. I didn't get a chance to land him on the pier because he was stolen from me by Torpedo Tommys cousin. Looked to be around 16-18lb LMB. Sad to say my ultra light weigh set up was no match for him.

He really took me, hook, line and sinker. But I did learn some bait options from that experience. My son was entertaining bluegill as well and managed to get a LMB. Only one landed for the day. It was @ 8" in length and released back to the lake to grow up.

The release was just in time for the game warden to witness that there was some proper C&R taking place.

4 other anglers there were issued citations for not having license. DUMB. They also lost their gear. Too Bad. They were harvesting anything that they could catch and deserved what they got for not following the rules.

Until next time, Moby Dick, Tommy and Cuz are still smiling and happy.

left around 10:15 am. Water was now close to 78 degrees and air temp was close to 81.

Hi there tubeN2,

Thanks for the reports. I feel like I have become friends with our various finny characters. Expecially Torpedo Tommy! I may become a traitor and start to root for Tommy and friends if I don't watch myself. ha ha

You gotta admit they're wary, clever, smart, patient, and experienced! Oh ya and they've got personality!

Have you fished for them by standing at least 30 feet away from the edge of the water. Not moving 30 minutes before fishing after positioning yourself, etc.

[cool] Hey JR, I haven't tried that technique yet. You have to imagine the adrenaline that rushes through you when you see him cruising by. It was bad enough and I apologize for not puting this in my report, but he had struck my floating basket a couple of times in an effort to get at the contents.

I usually keep most of my catch in the basket in the water tied to a rope when I go on the pier. When we are done we usually let everything go.

Those old boys are sneaky, clever and tricky. There must be a better way. I am awaiting a package from TubeDad. He will be sending stuff over here soon to test out and report on. Untill then, Happy fishing and I hope to tube with you some day.
