Right by the island is a good place because it's free and access is very close. There's usually a fish or two willing to bite there. Wallsburg arm is good too but you have to haul your rig a couple hundred yards. Charleston has the fee so I usually stick to the island or Wallsburg.

Wallsburg Arm is a good choice. TDT and I have been fishing there lately and have got Rainbow Trout while trolling and in the inlet got into some bows and a 14.5 inch LMB. Fish near the inlet with a Gold Blue Fox spinner size 2, Roostertail spinner that has a black/grey body and silver blade in size 1/8oz or a Countdown Rapala in Rainbow Trout size CD7. You can launch for free but it will be a short walk. Hope this helps...good luck out there on your B-day and all. Looking forward to the report.

a friend of mine hit wallsburg arm on sunday and did good trolling for fat rainbows. the eyes should start picking up here soon. in years past ive gotten eyes ice fishing in april, since theres no ice you could probly jig for em off rocky points.

If you want to fish up by the river without entering the fee area you can park on the west side of the road just south of the bridge.

[cool][#0000ff]Here are some maps to help.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Since you have the annual pass you can park at any State Park area...Walsburg, The Island or Charleston. All are producing well now. But at Charleston you will not have as many big boats to contend with. More tuber friendly. Also shallower water where the Provo River comes in. Good for trout but also should be starting to see a few walleye getting ready to go up the river too.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]At Charleston you park on dirt and launch over gravel and mud...no launch ramp. And while there is a ramp at the Island and Walsburg I prefer to launch on natural bottom...unless it is soft mud.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Good luck.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]I'm sure you got some good intel from the goddess lady. We hit Charleston a couple of times last year and both did well...she with her fairy wand and I with my spinney stuff.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Actually, I use a combo jig and fly rig...with a marabou jig either on the bottom...with a fly dropper above...or the jig on a dropper with a fly on a 3 foot trailer leader. Bubble and fly works good too. Colors to include are basic blacks, greens and browns. But white is also a Deer Creek color too.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Spinners are always worth a shot...as are other hardware faves like kastmasters and Jakes. There are several colors of Rapalas that work well and you can also score pretty well at times on plastic tubes...with or without crawler bits.[/#0000ff]
