After 4 tarps yesterday, I could not wait to get back on lake. Had stuff to
do early, got on the water at 10 a.m. Ran where I caught 2 tarps yesterday,
got 6 keepers, but no giants. Its an afternoon dock, see ya later in day. Ran some water
to get to where the big white crappie live. 10-12 feet of water, near deep, a good brush pile,
and well offshore. Its a matter of time till a 3 pounder comes from here. Marked the pile, backed off
and started bombing with 1/16 oz. jigs with Outlaw Special. 3 average keepers at first, then I stick
one of the players, 2 lbs. 1 oz. at 15 inch., take pics and release. Reposition the boat and back to work,
4 casts later, I rip another monster, it runs me around the boat ,taking drag, Finally get her netted.
Best fish of the day, what a belly. 2 lbs. 6 ozs. at 15 inch. This spot was great to me but it faded. I found
another pile within 100 yards of here, several months ago. But never caught a fish on it. I had it waypointed,
so I went to CHART and ran it down. It was piled with crappie. Caught a keeper on the first cast, its on.
Then I started catching small ones, PLEASE. I kept plugging, and while talking to Sport on the phone,
I get another beast, 2 lbs 2 ozs. at 14 3/4. I love catching these giants. That was the last good one here.
I picked up Sport, and we kept checking spots, and finally I said lets go back to that afternoon dock, where
I got em yesterday. I knew there was another tarp to be had there. But Sport,a.k.a. Spotstealer, jumped in
front of me and began to front end me. And I, always the nice guy, watches him steal my 14 1/2 inch tarp.
Ur welcome! We finished with 36 keepers, gave some eaters to a friend. All monsters releasd.
