Jordan river at the gates, west gate was wide open, all seven fisherman where on the east side, all where catching white bass, curltails in many colors.
two stringers had walleye on them, one 3# one 7 or 8 ( my guess )

I walked down the west side about 1/8 mile and fished 3 1/2 hours, 12 white bass 3 mudders, cats on worms, bass on chicken breast, small #6 hook, 1 oz sinker on btttom, all fish where only 10 or 15 ft out from the bank,
tried out in middle but no hits till my rig drifted back to shore

I don't know "the Gates". Is that on TD's map? Just below the Pumphouse?

I'm stuck at work for 9 days straight....[frown][frown]

I think that by the "gates" he means the headgates that are just west of the pumphouse that let the water flow out naturaly into the river.

[#0000ff]With one gate open there can be some good fishing, with a lot of your best friends. But when they open up all 3 gates it is impossible to fish.[/#0000ff]

The # 10 on TDs map is a nice open park, there are picnic tables, kids playground and many places to access the river.

When I was there a few days ago I saw a lot of 5 gallon buckets full of bass and mudders.

Sorry for late post of pics.

Yesterday I was there and people were filling coolers full of whities, mudcats, and carp. They were slaying them on white bass meat. If you use worms, you will catch some chunky mudcats.

[cool][#0000ff]Sometime after the first of May, the white bass will be swarming all around the lake. They are in the shallows and on the chew. GREAT flyrod targets...and they fight like wipers...proportionate to their size. You can have a ball on a 5 weight, with the chance to pick up a big cat or walleye "on accident".[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]They ain't big but the larger ones produce nice fillets that are great eating.[/#0000ff]
