After what seemed like an eternity I finally sold the aluminum boat. I put a down payment on a Scadden Renegade at the show a few weeks back and needed the funds to complete the order without dipping into the kitty. Called North Fork Outdoors Wednesday to fill the order and it arrived the next evening on my doorstep. I can't wait to trick her out with some bells and whistles and give her a float!!
Thanks to Tubedude and Flygoddess who provided answers and information to my multiple questions in various PMs while trying to figure out whether I wanted a tube or a toon (ended up with a hybrid[

]).
Also, I know it has been discussed multiple times but if someone could provide me a link to the past threads on how to license this thing I would be very appreciative.
Happy Easter everyone......

Just take the sales slip down, tell them it is a North Fork Outdoors. Model Outlaw. 9' long. That is it.
Nice boat!! I got to say, however, it does fit but getting it in that rolling duffle is a chore. LOL The side bags make the license easy to display.
Welcome to the Outlaws!!!! we need jackets.
By the way, your daughter should be able to ride with you, even with a battery.

Thanks again FG. Jackets maybe, but definitely window stickers. Does Mr. Scadden have these to distribute?
[signature]
He needs to! Wouldn't they be AWESOME...
Big ol' OUTLAW by NFO on the back.....man that would be cool.
What mods you thinking about? I just went with the Scotty glue ons. Did you get the motor mount?
[signature]
Yes, I got the motor mount but they are on back order; should be here sometime next week. As for the mods some will be custom pvc/TD style to get my sonar rigged, and maybe some pole holders etc. Others will be purchased. I really want NFOs anchor but I don,t know if it work in conjunction with the motor mount. Forgive my ignorance but what are Scotty glue ons?

You maybe able to get some ideas about rigging your ride at the float tube club meeting on the 29th. It will be at Willow Park in Murray at 6:30 PM. Should be some others with pimped-out rides that will give you good ideas. Of couse TD and his wealth of knowledge will be there to give you some help

Sweet, thanks for the heads-up. I will definitely try and make it.
[signature]
Looks stable. I'd like one to float down the green in one day. Too many wants, not enough coin.
[signature]
That's cool. You're obviously excited about the new ride! Will it travel on a trailer, or deflate for transport?
Sound like you're ready for a trip to the Tuborium for some PVC fittings. Now aren't ya supposed to get a big deck for those beasts? [:p]
Look forward to hearing about your upcoming adventures. Where to first?
Congrats on the craft I like the boats for company days but you can't beat a toon for fishing on your own. Enjoy I know you will love it. Later J

You can trailer or deflate. I'll probably put it in the bed of my truck 3/4 inflated for travel and top off when I arrive. It only took about 7-8 minutes to fill it completely using a hand pump.
Absolutely ready for a trip to the tuborium. I'm going to wait until after the holiday pandemonium to settle and then hit TD up for an appointment [cool].
I look forward to posting on the adventures to come but haven't decided on the first stop. Probably either Utah Lake, Willard, or maybe Rockport if I can talk Jazzperch into showing me how to get some perch tubing up there [

Sorry I gave you the wrong date. It's the 26th not the 29th and at Willow Pond by the Murray Golf Course. See Ya

[cool][#0000ff]That is Thursday the 26th.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Don't know if you happened to find the [url "http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=692122;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread"]"RENEGADE REVIEW"[/url] report I put on the float tubing board. I included some pics of the PVC mods I added. A bit different than tubes...with fewer D rings. Also different than most pontoons since there is no exterior frame. Took some engineering but very doable...depending on what you decide you want.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]When you get ready to rumble you are welcome to bring your new family member to the tubeatorium and I will be happy to guide you through the setup process. There are really a lot of options.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Congrats on getting a great ride.[/#0000ff]

I was going to say, TD made a motor mount but if you ordered it never mind. TD's mods are awesome. Remember he had one.
The glue ons I mention are just a rubber pad that is perminently glued to the toon.

to this pad you attach:
http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equip...mounts.htm
To this you can attach a rod holder, the anchor, the multi rod tree, the camera mount, etc. Pretty cool stuff, but can be costy. I have been talking to TD about an idea I have for a tripod camera mount plus transducer in one mount under side bag.

I didn't see your review until now. Agreed that full retail is a bit much and wouldn't have been an option without local show pricing. Even at that it was pricey. After watching the Scadden motor mount "infomercial" on youtube though, I was sold. I like the options of sitting closer to/in the water, sitting up and elevated on the cooler/battery holder, and even the option to stand. For me it appears to be adaptable to many types of fishing and is light enough to access almost any water.
The right-up and pics were very helpful. Do you still have the Renegade or was that just a test model for you?
Just two more questions for now...
First, did you put the battery for your sonar in the big pocket or somewhere else?
Second, how come we haven't seen a fishing report from you in awhile? I'm thinkin you need to get out....

[cool][#0000ff]I guess I was just doin' some R & D on the Renny. Loved the concept. Flygoddess allowed me to take her Renny out for a spin and I liked it. Then I bought Tarponjim's download Renny when he got his Assault. Couldn't resist the "gottasell" price. Finished trickin' it out to the max and put it on the water a couple more times. Then harsh reality set in. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]My "style" of fishing is largely dependent on the hands free thing...not using oars at all. The oars are mostly wasted on me. But the Renny was somewhat larger than the Fat Cat float tube I am used to kicking around all day and it whupped my behind to try to fish it the same way. I did have the motor for runnin' and gunnin' but you would be amazed at how much distance I cover in a day of fishing with just fin power. As much as I hated to do it, I released in gently into the care of another BFTer who had been lusting after a Renny but could not afford more than I had paid Tarponjim. So...I passed it along without losing anything in the balance...and gaining a lot of first hand knowledge that has since helped a few other Scaddenites.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Plenty of room in either of the big pockets for a small 12V SLA battery. You can insert those anywhere and even lay them down without concern for spilling, etc. I put mine in the pocket next to my sonar mount on the left side.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Why have I not been fishing? Man, I been killing them (not really) at Lower Bell and Little Dell. Ding Dong Bell...I lie like hell.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]This has been a sprinter (spring/winter) of my discontent. One family "issue" after another...and as a "patriarch" I gets to deal with all of it. Then, for some reason, everybody in Utah suddenly wants tubes tricked, rods built, reels repaired, flies tied and jigs and lures made. I need to learn to just say no to tackle. Oh yeah, in case you ain't noticed, Mama Nature has been kinda feisty too. Everytime I plan a trip she throws a hissy fit and I wimp out. Tubes and wind are not compatible. Then there is the "cheauffer" Tubebabe has had to make a couple of out of town trips to help settle some of the family stuff...and I get to drop her off and pick her up at the airport. Wouldn'tchaknowit, she always books me on those rare days when I could have gone fishin'. Life ain't fair.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Wrappin' up all my "projects" except the gardening. But the earth is patient. It will be there when I am ready for it. Should be dunking some lures somewhere early next week.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Thanks for asking. I needed to vent.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]By the way, on that footbar you may wanna consider changing that setup to a couple of "stirrups"...like the ones in the attached pic.[/#0000ff]
[signature]
Don't be outing our new slimmer spot now! [laugh][laugh]
Funny, I got blamed for that one and I never said the name....oh well.
I ended up with the stirrups. I got to be honest, I had no idea how to mount them till I say this picture...LOL GOT IT!!! I will bring them on the 26th for you to check out.
Remember, you are sitting OUT of the water on the New Ride, not in the water so this means less leg/fin in the water. Longer fins are nice.
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]Here's another pic of the stirrups.[/#0000ff]

Glad you got to vent. Thanks for all the info and I hope you get out soon. Also, hope to see at the club meeting.
