Does anyone know what water temps stripers wipers (false spawn) and white bass spawn at? I am heading to Willard right now. I'll post how I do.

[cool][#0000ff]65 degrees is a magic number for several species in Utah...largemouth, bluegills, white bass, wipers, catfish...carp. Crappies spawn a few degrees sooner but often extend their spawn into the higher ranges. Perch are first to spawn...usually right after ice out. Next are walleyes...from 45 to 55 degrees.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Of course actual spawning activity can be delayed by erratic weather patterns...low fronts moving through and dropping water temps after the spawn is started, etc. Last year we saw ripe females of several species long after they should have launched their loads. In fact, some of them did not get off a spawn at all and reabsorbed their eggs. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Man, can you imagine how that would work with humans. A pregnant soccer mom is just too busy to go to the hospital so she cancels her delivery and the embryo fades away...or at the very least suffers trauma and stress in the "waiting room". Then again, that might be a partial explanation for why some folks act the way they do. Delivery interruptus.[/#0000ff]
