Fishing Forum

I haven't posted anything for a while, so I though I would give it a try. I have been working the HF pretty hard lately and the fish have for the most part been cooperating. I don't take many photos because I am usually standing up to my waist in the water, but I did take the one below. The fish have generally been pretty good size, I have landed a number in the 20-22 inch range. The water is pretty cold and the fish are still a little sluggish, but it looks like a good start to the year. Most everything has been caught down deep, but the BWO's and midges are starting to show up, so I expect the fish to be looking up soon.

Nice fish and thanks for the report. I have hit it a couple times this week and did pretty well too. There were a ton of people out there today! I think I'll try to hit it on a week day next time.

I've fished the HF a couple of times in the past 2 weeks and have had success on zebra midges. I've observed a bunch of midges and a few baetis hatching, but very few risers. They are staying deep for the most part, like you said.

Great fish and report! It is nice that we are starting to see some more spring fishing reports. Now if the run off will just cooperate, and the wind time things better, we'll all get out.
