Did any off you lucky souls make it up there this weekend, how was it. Is there still plenty of ice, im headed up tuesday.

Still a lot of ice. Not a whole lot of open water to fish, but there are places if you drive around.

Think inlets.

any tips on the hot bait you guys were using.

black maribou jigs. Go in the evening not in the morning.

Bounce the black jig along the bottom??? I'm guessing in the 1/8 ounce ish size???

New to fishing Strawberry... Hope to get out there in the next couple of weeks..

You have to be careful for snags. Most of the open water right now has lots of vegetation in it. So if your bouncing it off the bottom your going to drag weeds with you then the fish wont bite. They should hit it right off the surface or just below it. 1/8 ounce should work fine. Personally I don't think there will be any ice on the water a couple of weeks from now. So this technique might not work as well. Right now all the fish are congregating in the little areas of open water due to more oxygen and more food. Minnows or any lure that imitates them are working well right now also.

Was up there yesterday. Not a whole lot of open water (lot's of people competing for water with depth) but if you search, you will find a spot. You may have to hike for it to find some depth. We did good on spinners. Didn't try jigs because there was too much vegetation. Take your waders too.

Should be good by this weekend.

What kind of "Spinners" should I stock up on???

I've got some gold & silver stuff by Blue Fox in the 2 &3 sizes.. Mepps, Red stripe with gold in the #2 sizes
