the F&G nuked Roseworth a few years ago. I have been thinking that there has to be some good trout out there. I just can't seem to make time for trout only. I wish there were some Crappie out there or even perch. If they dumped some walleye in there then I would be there in a heart beat. Ron

Well it was an April day, potential for ran breezy and cool. We were still exspecting a good day of fishin but I was going to need more than shorts and 2 shirts on, so I slid into my seats and decided I would put my wading pants on cause I figured I would still need to get in the water to unload and load the boat.

Looks good with the trolling motor![cool]
As it was I was definitly glad I had put on the waders, because in trying to get the boat off the trailer in had pulled Jeff into the water as far as he was willing to go (he didn't have waders on) so I had to jump out and get the rope before it go to too deep and the boat floated away. There is more to this situation that we will disscuss in a minute.
I went up and parked the car and as we started to load up in the boat it had some water in it and from under the rear bench there was a very steady flow coming in[frown]
We had hit anything or heard anything that might have punctured the boat so we got it back on the trailer to have a look. Sure glad I had put on my waders, thank you Lord!

This is what we found after pulling it out.

A crack about 4" long. Luckily where I work we weld aluminum. However I do have some aluminum JB weld type stuff that may have worked in an emergency.
Well we just decided to do some bank fishing.

we had 4 hits 2 of those had fish I lost mine I think on some sage brush, the waters high and Jeff lost his right when it hit, he hadn't changed his line from last year yet. He lost 3 last weekend on brak off and had pulled a bunch of line off his reel thinking it was good enough, but not.[crazy]
We figured they were both some nice trout, Jeff of course said his was bigger[:p]
I will just need to get back out there and try again.[fishin]

Too bad on the crack. One nice thing about those boats is that they are very easily repaired.
At least you got a little fishing in. Next time will be better!

I was hoping that you would have a good report.
Loctite makes a product that is like silly putty. It is a two part epoxy but it is like silly putty. You cut off a chunk the size you need and then you smash it twist it mix it up real good. You can do it with your fingers. Like I said it is like silly putty. Then you put it on and it only takes a few minutes to bond. I will get the info tomorrow at work and post it. We use it to repair steel pipes. Ron

Bummer of a story Michael. Glad you got the boat back on the trailer safely. That shouldn't be to hard to fix.

If you are going to patch it in stead of weld it . Do it from both sides . The inside patch will hold better and be less likely to be bumped or broken off . Get the metal as clean as possible before you apply the patch . Curt G.
