A buddy and I went out to little Camas in his canoe at about 8 in the morning, we launched on the west side of the lake. He started out with a worm/ salmon egg combo, and I used a small blue fox spinner.

Within 20 minutes I had reeled in two nice fat rainbows. Things got a little bit slow so we went to the south part of the lake and my buddy hooked into 14 incher with a silver mepps. We were continually getting bumps and strikes, but were also getting a fair amount of weeds or moss on our spinners. We moved on a bit and I caught one more, then we went back to get lunch (we had to paddle across the lake in a vicious headwind[pirate])

After a slow couple of hours we rowed back to the south end of the lake, and had 2 hours of nonstop action on gold panther martins. We limited out and left at about 6:30. I think this has been one of the most successful, scenic trips I've been on in recent memory. I hope things are still good in two weeks so I can go again!

Thanks for the report. We had thought of going there this past Fri, but ended up fishing the Owyhee instead with fairly good results. May hit Camas this Fri. Thanks again for reporting.

Thanks for the heads up on Little Camas. Thought of going there myself over the weekend but was a little leary of the wind. If it's blowing at my place it's usually screamin' there. I'm thinking it will be a great spot to get my 9 year old started in a float tube this spring.

I was there on Saturday with Iwantabuggy. I saw you guys out there in the canoe after the wind kicked up and now understand why your name is Bob. The Bug had some wader leakage issues but I stayed out until the wind kicked up and but no good from the tube dragging leaches. We ended up bank yanking and caught some some fat little rainbows. It is going to fish well this year and is a great place to take a nine year old on a float tube as long as you have an exit strategy once the wind hits.

Thanks for the report.
