Decided to kill some time before work. Went on a road behind the bridge on mainstreet in lehi that lil niegbhorhood before the bridge. time from 10:00am to 12:am. It was all bullheads that I caught, action was fast and bites were hard. I would catch a Little 1-2 pounder but would swear it was 5-10 pounder from the bite and the fight. I used a 1 ounce wieght with swivel and size 6 hook and night crawlers was my only bait. I stood on my shore and casted to the other side near the brush. The River is the calmest i ever seen it at this depth so you dont need much wieght to get your rigup to sink and stay put. Makes it alot easier to get them cats. Here is a pic but sorry if i was handling the fish wrong I did take a couple home but way prefer channel cats over the bullheads. I also was taking them by myself so please bear with me on the pics. About 10-15 bullheads i was able to bring to shore.

That one is a nice Channel! Good job!
I suppose a bunch of mudders are better than nothing, but I hate catching those things.

Catfish are some tough fish. No worries there. Nice to see you got some channels during your time to kill.

I actually caught a 16 pound channel catfish last year around this time on my b-day april 30 close to the rc airplane park in saratoga springs in the jordan river. With the same exact setup I described earlier in this post. I thought it was a blue catfish but reading your book tubedude I learned I am wrong. I wasnt able to get a pic of that fish because I left my phone in my car, But i did catch some other nice channels last year that i was able to get a pic of. I posted them in the trophy room here is the link. Both fish were gobbled up.

Awesome pics! What kind of weed were you using, chronic or just swag? Do the fish seem to have a preference?[

The 1 ounce weight sure adds to the fight. Great job, I am a big fan of that river! You give me encouragement to get back to the jordan!

rofl - damn you - now my keyboard is all covered in snowcap!
makes a great addition to a brine - touch of skunk. lol [:p]
the Mrs always jokes when I mention smoking fish "how do you keep them lit?"
Nice post Joe. So - do you do a side by side comparison? Curious how you like to prepare you cats?
some folks say it's Whisker Time - I say Bring on the Barbarella!
really any fish I cook that I catch i just gut then toss on seasonings like this one called gourmet hamburger seasoning and steak seasoning I use lemon and chop up onions and either fry or bake. I like to go to a chinese store in orem on state street behind wienerschnitzel and buy whole frozen squids and make calamari with some calamari seasoned breaded coating I got from smiths. I will apply that to my fish that I catch If i have that seasoning available.
