Just so ya know.....

Most folks call 'em "Largemouth Bass"[]

What you are holding in the picture is commonly called a "Smallmouth" bass.[]

Easy way to tell is to look at the eye. If there's any red, it's a smallmouth. If it's all brown and gold, it's a largemouth. Aside from the upper jaw not extending behind the eye, smallmouth also have vertical bars and a less pronounced stripe along the lateral line. They also tend to have darker stripes on the cheeks.
