Did a little CBA pre-fishing on Saturday and had a pretty good morning until the wind picked up. Was fishing shallow flats near the river ledge, and 2nd spot we hit caught a solid limit of 17# in about half an hour, all on Shakey Heads. Had one over 5 and one just under 5. Left there and fished our way up-river, but it was really tough trying to fish a shakey head offshore once the wind picked up. The bite kind of died for us after about 10:30, as we only managed 2 more fish. Put the boat on the trailer and hit up some Amigos at Island Cove.
Headed home to pack up the camping gear, and pick up my 2 boys, and headed back to Harrison Bay to take them camping for the night, and then the plan was to pick up some minnows and take them below the dam on Sunday.

We launched at RiverPark around 11:30, my wife decided she would come as well and bring our 6 month old. So, I was a bit unsure as to how the day would unfold. Both of my boys 6 and 3 were fired up, and were determined to use there own rods and wanted nothing to do with daddy's spinning rods. So I loaded up there Zebco's on 5.5 Ugly Stick's with 10# P-Line, a split shot and a circle hook... It took them a minute to get the hang of it and missed a few fish early, but my 3 year old about had the rod jerked out his hand and the fish set the hook on his own, and he eventually brought in a spot that weighed almost 3#'s, and from that point on wouldn't let me touch the rod. A bit later my 6 year old was fishing a shiner out of the well, so I was holding his rod for him and was getting a bite so I threw it in free-spool and handed him the rod. He reeled down to the fish and it immediately starting peeling line off his Zebco, I thought it was a catfish until a big Smallmouth came up and jumped! It took him close to 5 minutes to land it, but he did and it weighed 5.3 on the scale! I am sure I was far more excited than he was... This morning as I was leaving for work they both asked if I could skip work and we could go fishing!
Will post pictures as soon as my wife sends them to me!
