Hey guys... I am from the Utah board and am looking through the Idaho board today... My wife and I are going to visit her family in Grace, Idaho this weekend. We are probably going to fish on Saturday and I was wondering if there was any good trout fishing lakes near Grace? On google maps I see a few reservoirs near Grace... they are Alexander Res., Blackfoot Res., and Chesterfield Reservoir. Are any of these lakes good for trout fishing from the bank? Any other lake/river in the area that you would recommend for trout fishing... no more than an hour from Grace?

Thanks a bunch...

Bear River anywhere around Grace. Black canyon or below the dam. Good luck.

Chersterfield sounds more promising than what I saw at blackfoot

Another option for you might be 24 mile. It's a little bit further then Chesterfield, but it's still a fun lake and you might have a better chance of at least catching a fish. It might not be as big of a fish, but your chances are better.

He wants to fish from the bank, which likely means bait fishing. 24 Mile is flies and lures only last time I looked. Those can be fished from the bank, but most bank-yankers use bait. I know I do.....

Excellent point. I use only flies and I guess mentally it didn't cross my mind that he would be using bait. Thanks
