Shortly after daybreak, I started out fishing some newly located deep water structure where I could hear a lonely ole gobbler off in the distance. I just love spring.
I knew the conditions were not right for crappie at this location, so my feelings weren't hurt when I came up empty.
More or less I was just trying to get more familiar with this structure for a later time.

Moved on to some submerged timber and was surprised when I caught a 14" prespawn white crappie.
I guess its a good thing that all of the crappie don't spawn all at the same time with the changing lake levels.
A couple more of the fish caught today were prespawn but the majority have finished there thing and are completely spawned out. Fished mostly offshore brushpiles with a couple of docks also. Didn't keep any fish today but caught 28 whites with ten keepers. One bonus walleye.
The wind and wakeboarders got pretty bad around noon so I just went and scouted the last few hours.
