I am going to be in Idaho this weekend, visiting my wife's family and my wife and I want to do some fishing on Saturday... I have decided we want to hit Chesterfield. The ice recently came off so I am hoping it is not turned over... Anyway, I have never fished in Chesterfield and was wondering if anyone would mind sharing where a good place to fish from the bank is? I have heard it is shallow around the edges, so are there any places that are accessible that are a little deeper from the bank?

I wouldn't worry too much about getting deep. I've hooked fish by fishing less than 20 feet from the bank in 18 inches of water and less, shortly after ice out on many lakes.

Just go, and with a little looking you'll find some decent looking places to fish. Look for areas where the grass is matted down from people walking on it, chairs sitting on it, etc. You'll be able to tell where others have fished. There might not be any grass at all.

Try short casts, try intermediate casts, try long casts, until you find where the fish are. You'll get something. Worm and marshmellow are going to get you something if anything will.
