<br /> After being in Boston all week I was needing a few hours on the water. Alvin decided to play hookie with me and we hit the Riverpark at 7 AM this morning. Weaterman said it would be sunny, with 8 MPH winds but he missed it a little. Clouds all day, sprinkles on the way there and 10&#43;MPH winds. But, the fish wanted to play. <br /> Started out fishing a shallow bank for largemouths as I thought with no (I mean NO) flow and clounds we could get some on top. My first cast with a torpedo I get a 1.5 lb spot. A few casts later and I get a small largemouth. A few more later and I get a nice 1.75 lb spot. Alvin has yet to put a fish in the boat but he finally got started with a nice 2.5 lb LM. The topwater bite was hit and miss so I put on a pig n jig and got a 3lb LM and a 3.9 lb LM. Not bad. I also got a nice 15 lb drum that gave me fits. <br /> We left that bank and headed to the bend to see what my pets were doing. We started catching small spots right off on pig n jigs but with the water calm and clouds I knew they had to hit top. Hit a stretch of bank that was on fire and we killed them for about 30 minutes. I got a really nice 4.6 lber on a torpedo and Alvin got a 3.1 lber on a tube. Caught a few more spots and decided to check on the google eyes. <br /> There google eyes where there as usual but all males. The females have not pulled up yet for some reason, or they are pulling up in small waves. We wore them out for a little while on drop shot Gulp minnows and I broke off another nice cat at the boat, this one going 12-15 lbs. Make 3 trips in a row I have lost a good cat at the boat. <br /> We ended the day at 11AM with 33 spots, 7 largemouth (best 5 going 17 lbs, best 3 going 11.5 lbs), 31 rock bass (google eyes), 2 blue cats, and 1 drum. 74 fish boated in 4 hours. We probably hooked and lost another 10-15 bass and no telling how many google eyes. Water temp was 68-69 degrees. Great day to spend on the water. <br /> Today was my 7th trip this year. So far we are averaging 63.1 fish boated per trip, and 34 bass boated per trip. Not bad. We have boated 442 fish in 7 trips so far this year.
