Launched from the So. Marina about 3:00 pm, beautiful day. Trolled the east dyke with no bites til almost at freeway bay. there is a bouy marking a shallow hump about 50-75 yards from shore with a nice drop off on the North side to about 10' deep. Fish all over the finder. Had wypers surface in 2's,3's and 4-5's at a time right by the boat and then speed away just under the surface to where their backs were leaving a "v" in the water. Could see them plain as day! we tried cranks, rattle traps, jigs and spinner baits, could not get them to bite! FRUSTRATING! Stayed there for 3-4 hours then headed to the north marina. tried several places there, no bites. Left after the sun went down and light was very low. stopped at the entrance to the So. marina, anchored at the north point of the inlet. fished for 2-3 hours, my son-in-law, Jordan finally caught his first walleye. a nice 18" one. they were splashing right up against the rocks. I lost at least a dozen jigs. I got no bites. They were there just not in the mood to eat I guess. With the exception of the bugs...a very nice day on the water.

We were also out there yesterday morning from 8 until 2, caught 1 channel cat and lost a pretty good wiper. The trip was mainly to check out the rig to make sure everthing was still working since being stored last fall. The fish we seen cruising just under the surface were big shad, they seemed to be out in fair numbers in places.

I was also out there from around 8ish to 2. Fished the north marina then went to trolling. Had a fish on while trolling but as soon as i picked up the pole and felt the fish tug, it was gone... Nice day but couldn't catch anything at all.

My son and I were out there too. Mostly to make sure everything was working before I hit Powell next week. I was seeing the same thing on the south and west dike. Fish were cruising just under the surface but none were interested enough to strike.

My wife and I were there yesterday afternoon and we marked a lot of fish but we could not entice them to bite. I am sorta glad to hear that it wasn't just us that left with that skunk smell.

I think we saw you as we came into the South marina last night, were you guys on the NE corner of the inlet? I was fishing with Reefast in his 21' jet boat, I think he shined his spot lights on your boat as we were coming in? Good to hear you guys got at least one eye in the boat, zip for us.[frown]

Yes that was us. Glad to see we were not the only "wierdos" (LOL) out that late. Wanted to stay longer but was running out of worms and the bugs were driving us crazy. I did not think they were out in force yet. There was one bank tangler on that point when we launched, and just leaving when we came back. Said he caugt one eye right in the rocks next to the shore about sundown. long walk from where he parked to get there I guess. other wise the only fish I saw caught was a big carp at the north marina. This was our first trip with the boat as well. Earliest I can recall taking it out.
