Really wasn't all that dirty today!!! And wasn't high either. Actually was flowing about the same as it has the last 3 months! Which was AWESOME!!!! Started out in the south end of Peterson, walked about a mile in with zero fish and said screw that. Packed back out and went higher up the river. Has anyone else had good luck fishing that Peterson area? I know the one access point looked like a Walmart parking lot as I was driving home. There's just not that many holes to be had through that area is there??? Is it all private from Peterson to Morgan? I think this area is Stoddard?

Anyways, fish definitely wanted to come out and play today! Hit the river around 8:30, off by 2. Caught around 30ish. Lost around 15. Dunno what my deal was today with losing fish! Had on my usual Red copper john for attractor most of the day. Also had a BH Hare's Ear that was alright, wasn't keeping up with the CJ though. The bottom fly, I had on a variety of stuff, Zebra Midge, WD-40's, pheasant tails, Non-bead Headed Hare's Ear in a light tan <<< worked the best! Glad I tied up a few of them, cause they all got destroyed. Almost looks transparent in the water, real similar to the nymphs I was seeing on the bottom. Caught a few whities, but it was around a 1:4 raito. I try to avoid flies that the whitefish seems to like more. (scuds and sows)

Also got my new Nikon AW100! Still playing with the settings and learning how to use it. But pics are MUCH better then my stupid cell phone! Enjoy!

They slowed the flows downed due to a kid who disappeared in the water yesterday so the flows should have gone down, great pics hope I can get back up soon.

A fellow BFTer mentioned that as I was coming off the river. Still haven't heard the story on what happened. Sad either way though. Maybe they should just keeps the flows down all year Wink

I fished Rockport yesterday with my buddy and soon realized that that lake is what I've always said it was:Crummy. So we headed up to where the river flows in. Pretty dirty, but WOW, one of the biggest caddis hatches I've ever seen. Looking at the ground reminded me of that creepy scene in Indiana Jones where they're walking through the cave stepping on bugs -- billions of them. Only saw a few fish rising for them though, even though there were seriously thousands on the water. Fished a caddis larva, hares ear, PT, CJ, and several different emergers with not a single hit over the next two hours.

ROUGH.

Felt good to get on the river and fish again; thanks to TubeDude, I haven't fished anywhere but Utah Lake for the last 6 months.
