Fishing Forum

I absolutely love fishing streams, creeks, and rivers. I especially like fishing water that is overlooked by anglers as they drive on to the big hitter lakes. All the fish today were caught within 20ish miles of my home. There are wonderful places to fish in or near to Utah Valley. It just takes a little time, effort, and common sense to find them.

I was fortunate enough to find 3 types of trout today. First to bat were the Browns. They were hitting hard today [cool]



This next guy slammed my jig. He fought way bigger than he really was…I thought I had a 20”+ fish on [shocked] .



I moved to another gem that has taken me a long time to find. This stream is not known for its Cutts, but if you look hard enough they are there.





They don’t have much size to them, but some of their colors were just fantastic. They also gave a pretty good fight for their size.





I could spend days exploring this particular stream. It has so much diversity and is rarely fished once the road separates from it. I will definitely be spending more time here.



Next I decided to hit one of my favorite places: my Rainbow oasis. It’s really not a huge secret place, but I do like that I rarely see people there []



Plus it’s a great place to practice with the fly rod. Always fun to catch on the fly, even if they’re pretty dinky



This stream brings a lot of memories with it. I passed this little cave that is right along the road. As a kid my friends and I would play in it…after we threw plenty of rocks to make sure there were no bears haha. [] I've even taken a fall into that creek a couple times [laugh]



Fishing was even good when the sun started going down. Some of these bows really have some beauty to them.



There is so much opportunity to fish gorgeous waters in our own back yards. The fish aren’t too shabby either.



Life is surely short, so live it well.

I have fished the area by the cave before a few times, those are some fiesty fish i might have to go down there again sometime soon! Nice pics man, and good catches

I know exactly where you are fishing. I have lived there almost my whole life. I need to go fishing there again I haven't been there since I have left. Which has been about 5 years.
