Anglers at Griffy Lake in Bloomington are allowed to keep more fish, effective immediately, in preparation for the draining of the lake this summer for maintenance.

The city of Bloomington is draining Griffy Lake to work on its drain structure. The DNR is relaxing fishing regulations at Griffy Lake so that fewer fish are wasted when the lake is drained.

Effective immediately, the DNR has removed the largemouth bass minimum size limit of 14 inches and doubled the daily bag limit for all species at Griffy Lake. For information on daily bag limits, visit the DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife website at fishing.IN.gov.

The DNR will restock Griffy Lake with fish after the drain project.
