Big Cottonwood River - Hit the BCR with my twin for literally 20 mins before we had to meet Leaky. I caught 3 brown trout and lost 2. My twin caught 2 browns. I was using a blue fox gold spinner in size #0 and my twin was using a Rainbow Trout Countdown Rapala in CD1.

Weber River - So my alarm on the phone either didn't go off on the BCR or the river was too loud but I was pretty late in meeting up with leaky and the infamous sparky. He informed me that my twin cannot be there (even though he said he'd just guide, Evil TDT refused as he told Leaky "you drove here to fish, go fish!") but I got to go as a "guest" on the private section of river. First hole sparky led the way to (he knows the route better than leaky) and Leaky told me to roll cast my nymph to the fish. Well I couldn't get any bites so I ran back to the truck and got my spin rod. I asked Leaky "do you think the gold spinners work better or the silver?" I was informed he hadn't a clue. I chose Gold. 5 fish in 5 casts! Simply amazing! Even one I tangled the line over a branch and while retrieving it BOOM a rainbow took it. Well it was a interesting predicament as it was hanging and couldn't break the branch. I had to walk around to shake it loose and sparky was there for the drop.
We moved on to the next hole where I tried the nymph again and within 5 mins I was tangled bad. Meanwhile the old man picked out a few bows to sparky's delight. I got out that spin rod and nailed a brown while leaky fished my old hole and got another.
Well at hole #3 I tried the nymph "leaky style" and low and behold I got my 1st ever real river fish on the fly!!! Sparky is a true meat angler and tries to always get the fish you release. So much so in fact he bit my hand as I was gently releasing a fish. Well they had to be tossed from that point on! Sparky needs some work with his releasing technique! After catching a few with the fly rod I'd switch to the spin rod and pick out a few more.
By 3:45 poor old leaky had to go back to shmoosy the wife with a night out on the town. Once he left my one and only split shot seemed to "leave" with him and I was screwed. That freed up a spot for my twin to slay the river with me. He had been fishing the Middle weeb with 5 small browns to show for it. We just killed it. We walked up the river, back down the river, back up the river, down the river, getting rainbows, browns, and my twin even got a few cutts. We even got video of the bonanza but the youtube link aint working. Oh well my email list will get it.
By about 7pm I got a call from Leaky wondering if I made it home. I told him I was still there killing it! He informed me that I could keep 4 each. Well game on! Too bad the brutes of the day were already caught but we already had kept one that could not be saved, just a floater. There was a nice thick 19 incher that I wanted to eat but he slipped down the bank and got away. Damn where is sparky when you need him?
In total we got 93 fish on that property by 9pm. The day total was 101!!!! hock: We were using gold blue fox in size#2 and silver blue fox size#2 as well as a roostertail spinner in size1/8th that was Silver bladed, Black/grey body, and black fur. Prince Nymphs were the flies of choice.
My favortie little quote I came up with for days like this is "cheif would be proud today!" Reffering to the idea of tribes and a hunter that was highy successful. Cheif would have been proud today!

Wow, you guys did slay it nice report. I dont know if I could give any advice, because you just slayed it. As you know you can't go wrong with a BlueFox #2 Silver/Gold. I have found that the gold works better on cloudy days, and you will catch more rainbows on it than the silver. Silver is my all time favorite always do good with that one. Again awesome report way to tear it up!!!!

We just used gold on the way up and silver on the way down and kept doing that switch pattern.

I have found around sundown when the light is gone and you are in the shade a non reflective color like black is great. Some old man at a pond told me the fish are not looking for the flash in those conditions.

I am gold 1st silver second type of guy, just like the olympics.
