Fished Lake Powell last week for some much needed re charging. To make a long story short, the bass were on the beds, but not every where. The baits of choice were 3" maniac Minnows in Holographic Shad and 3-1/2" Cut'r Bugs in River Craw and Changeable Craw.
Caught about 50 Walleye, 25 Crappies, 16 Stripers, and I have no idea how many Bass we caught.
Can't wait to go back!

Most of the bass were in the spawning area's, backs of Canyons, coves, etc. Some of the bass are moving to the out side edges of coves close to deep water.
The Walleye's are on the Rocky points and steeper sloping banks with varying sizes of broken rock or river rock of different sizes mixed with gravel and sand. most of the Walleye were in depths from 17' to 35' deep.
If the structure allows for Bottom bouncers with spinner harnesses, then use the bottom bouncer with a Crawler or small 4" plastic worm. Try Craw, perch and shad colored Crank Baits, also Maniac Minnows and 3-1/2" Cut'r Bugs rigged on a 1/8 oz jig head, 1/4 oz if windy.
The bass were taking 3" Maniac Minnows and 3-1/2" Cut'r Bugs on the same jig head or split shot the Cut'r Bug and pull the rig on the bottom slow.
Take some 1/2 oz spinner Baits in White or White and Chartreuse, silver willow leaf blades.
3/8 oz jigs with a silicone or rubber skirt with a Cut'r Bug as a trailer was also effective for Smallies and green fish.
Did I leave out anything?
The Minnows caught everything in the lake!

Nice Crappie!
We found that the crappie wanted the bait slower, so we put the 2" Minnow and the Gizzilla two feet under a small float and that sealed the deal.

Great Fish. We were down there the same time. I saw your truck when we were putting in. I had good luck with the white grubs and changeble craw salt sticks. My buddy was wacky rigging watermelon senkos and couldn't keep the smallies off the line. We had a great trip glad to see you did too.

I'M glad to see you had a good time. There's nothing quite like Powell and probably never will be in our lifetime.
It's good to see you still hold on to that pic of your Boy's first Wiper!
Hope to see you on the water!
