headed to Powell - first time ever so need some help. THANK YOU!

Want to get the wife catching fish as she has fished with me a few times but has not caught too many thus far but want to get her into the bass if at all possible this week (thurs-sat)...I want to catch some as well Your help on where to get into the bass (LMB, SMB, or even striper) would be greatly appreciated. Please do email me at Dustin@Freemydollars.com or post here if you would like.

We are staying at the lodge at Bullfrog and have a 19' bass boat so can make 15mi or so runs as needed to get to good fishing.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

I'll be down there tonight in bullfrog as well, look for three guys in a duck boat with a 40 on the back. From what it sounds like Good Hope bay is the place to be right now, which was something like a 45 minute ride up from bullfrog if I remember right.

For lures I'd start with drop shot rigs pitched into 3' to 25' of water. Throw on anything from worm imitations (roboworms are my favorites) to minnows (gulp, fluke or other) or creatures like lizards.

Also a standby is a 3" curly tail in chartreuse, watermellon, or white. Heard the double tails do well as well but havn't used them in a while.

For cranks Wayne suggest throwing lucky craft pointers in shad patterns or thundersticks for trolling deeper. Crappie, bluegill and bass take the usual small jigs under a bobber in good cover.

Holler at me if you see me, and good luck to you!

Thank you and will say HI.

Just find coves with a sloping shoreline and cast 3-5" soft plastics right to the shore. We were down last week and I think every fish came from within 5' of the shoreline. Every weed clump and every point and everywhere in between is holding fish. It shouldn't be hard for you at all!

Go to Wayneswords.com. Wayne just posted a new report that will give you a good place to start. There are also lots of reports on Angler's Corner and other helpful tips. For Powell, Wayneswords is the place to go !!!!
It was tough today. Fished from 0' to 15' as the smallmouth are pulling off with the spawn mostly done. Caught about 2-3 per hour but all VERY small fish. Tried dropshot, shakey head, weightless senkos, weightless craws, texas rigged craws, spinnerbaits, felt like most of the tackle box.

Fished a place that a few people on here PMed me about that was hot last week...had about 12 boats in a pretty small canyon this morning...saw maybe 25 total fish caught with most guys leaving after about 90 minutes with no fish.

We did catch some fish (not too many) and talked to quite a few other anglers as well - about 3 fish per hour seemed to be usual per boat but the size were SMALL. The larger fish had moved deeper (smallmouth) and had post spawn lock jaw while the decent size LMB tended to be on the "post spawn cruise" along the shoreline and not wanting to react to much at all.

Fished from Marker about 109 down to 80. Did not hit good hope but seemed the walleye bite had heated up for the walleye guys.

Have a great week.
